Do you ace the Times crossword puzzle for fun? Have the uncanny ability to spot an error in a ream of text from across the room? We’d like to talk to you about being our editor / proofreader. We’re looking for a meticulous, intelligent know-it-all to help us maintain our good reputation for accuracy, clarity and consistency with required style and usage. This could be a part-time job with a regular commitment for a few hours every weekday, or maybe more if your writing skills are polished, too. Excellent compensation for the right person.

Requirements:

• Impeccable spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
• Knowledge of Associated Press style and the ability to learn and apply additional client styles
• Ability to fact-check and edit medical and technical subject matter
• Talent for spotting errors in fact, logic, sense, usage, flow of information and consistency of tone
• An eye for applying graphic standards in type size, style, placement and legibility
• The attitude of a partner and coach, with a love for good work
